2024 LARGA President's Message

LARGA has made a few changes for 2024. The main change is that the cost for each event will include the cost of golf, cart, and taxes. Another change is we are being assigned a number of tee times (e.g. 12) so space may be limited. The first event will take place May 6 at Widder Station starting at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 which includes the cart and taxes. This is our costliest event. In order to give Widder Station the number of golfers (tee times) with proper notice, we need to do a sign-up for Widder well in advance. So on April 22, there will be someone at Camlachie Golf Course from 9-12 noon to let you sign up AND pay for the tee time (as was done last year). Please note there is NO golf taking place April 22 ... it is just for getting your tee time for Event 1. If you are unable to make that time, you can contact Bruce Houtby (see below) to get your times AFTER noon on the 22nd. Please understand selecting a tee time commits you to paying for your time. One person can sign up their entire group; it is not necessary for everyone to attend to sign up. It would be helpful if all the tees time are paid for when the tee time is selected (1 cheque or 4 is OK). Like last year, cash will still be accepted. We still prefer you to register as a LARGA member online at https://larga.ca. This ensures we get your proper e-mail address for future e-mails such as this one. The payment will stay at $20 for 2024. Bank fees, charges for printing, and the web site cost LARGA a fair bit. The web site suggests you mail the fee to our current treasurer. If it easier, include the fee when paying for your first event. Also on April 22, you will be able to sign up for the next event or 2. Payment is expected for each event at the time of sign-up as it was last year. The Golf North courses and a few others still want numbers 14 days in advance.
